The Comet of Vermulin

On a voyage of exploration in centuries past, British sailors discovered a meteor buried deep in the earth. Unwittingly, they looted four artifacts placed with the meteor. One of these sailors kept a journal as they headed back to England. He was the only one to make it home alive.

Present Day, Antarctica

A research company begins to excavate something buried deep in the ice. Readings taken from the rock indicate traces of a previously unknown material. The material appears to have the potential to multiply and alter hock genes - the genes which determine the make-up of living organisms. These alterations are capable of evolving a greater diversity of life. Within the rock are the next most important findings in genetics and evolution since Darwin. On their dig, the researchers discover the body of a European, perfectly preserved in the ice. Scratched on his tombstone is the name of the boat he sailed on. Following this information, they locate a shipmate's journal and set about searching for the artifacts lost by the sailors? Meanwhile, Lara is in India searching for one of these artifacts. Unaware of its true history, she only knows that in local beliefs it was supposed to hold great powers and has been revered by tribes there throughout the years?

Levels

• Jungles of India including a temple.
• Islands of the South Pacific including sparkling beaches, white water rapids and even cave(yay more like TR1), there wil be dinosaurs.
• London's mysterious sub culture including St. Paul's Cathedral, National history museum, waxwork museum and underground tunnels also a level called CITY what to expect?.
• Deserts of Nevada and Area 51 with little green men? Sure hoep not (my dad worked there you know)
• Antarctica including a large ship and a polar research station. This level has limited cold exposure meaning if Lara dosen't hurry she'll freeze to death there will be a sno-mobile a cart ride under ground and an inflatable boat..

Gameplay

• The game consist of 5 locations divided into 17 separate levels, 4 boss style levels and a secret level. Players can choose the order in which the levels are played giving it a non-linear structure. Your decisions won't effect the outcome of the game but there will be advantages and disadvantages to the order you choose meaning better weapons or flares and some will be more difficult than others. India is the intro level, after that you can choose the order of London, South Pacific and Nevada in the central hub, after all 3 are complete its off to the final level in Antarctica. Also the individual levels will have multiple routes you can take to complete the level each with a different challenge.This gives the game an even greater replay value.
• The game will be 50% indoor and 50% outdoor as in Tomb Raider 2 and the levels will be much larger
• There is more puzzle-solving and less shooting much like the first Tomb Raider
• New difficulty setting effects the saving feature in the game. If you choose "easy" you can save anywhere, but if you choose "hard" you will use the save crystals. Players will be rewarded differently on which setting they take.
• The environment has more interactive elements such as when you shoot stuff like crates and oil drums they will explode and maybe even give you items.

Game Engine

• About 80% of the gaming engine has been rewritten YAY, I hope!
• Triangle based polygons giving the terrain a more natural, rounded look.
• Hi-resolution graphics (512x240) on the Playstation.
• Lara has more detailed skin with a higher polygon count and ears have been added she also has a navel ring :( and she isn't so darn skinny!
• The games engine speed has been improved allowing better and smoother graphics and animation

Graphics

• Weather conditions including rain, snow, mist/fog in the jungle and around the waterfalls, and wind that will blow leaves along the ground. Lara will also leave foot prints in the snow and wet ground
• The water is the most improved feature of the game with better reflections on the surface, a realistic rippling and splashing effect when Lara is swimming or something hits the water.
• Fire, flares and gun muzzles will smoke. You can even see Lara's breath when it's cold
• Bullet casings will fall from the guns when fired. Bullet holes will be visible in walls and surfaces
• Multi-colored lighting with transparency effects including opaque light beams and more realistic shadows (no more black spot shadows under objects)
• If Lara or an enemy is shot in the water their blood will give off a dark red tint and then disperse
• Accurate "footfall" sounds for all the different surfaces Lara will walk upon like creaking rope bridges and crunching snow
• Night and day lighting effects. When Lara enters a place like a cave it will be light out, but after awhile when she exits it will be dark out

New Moves

• Speed dash (quick sprint) to quickly get out of harms way, also a dive can be preformed during the dash
• Hand over hand monkey bar swing
• Duck and crawl move used to explore small secret areas and sneak around
• Strafe while swimming underwater
• Swing on ropes like Tarzan
• Climb ropes and vines
• Push blocks down
• Barge or kick open doors and scenery
• Quick drop and roll
• Lara can pick up items off a table without climbing on top
• Open doors by using a door handle instead of a lever on a wall

What She'll be Wearing

• A black, tight-fitting cat bugler outfit for the London levels
• A snow outfit for Antarctica including an orange colored jacket and camouflage pants (no more short shorts)
• A turquoise colored sports bra with green shorts (similar looking to her original Tomb Raider outfit) for the South Pacific levels
• Military (soldier) outfit with a sports bra and blue camouflage pants for the Area 51 levels
• Her original Tomb Raider 1 & 2 outfit to be worn in India

• Canoe used in the white water rapids level
• Speed boat
• Inflatable Boat
• Mine cart for a roller coaster race through a frozen underground mine
• Parachute when Lara jumps from a plane in one level
• Snow vehicle (a skidoo)
• Quad bike (chase sequence)

Lara's Mansion(Rumors I think)

• The training level will take place at Lara's mansion again with a extended area outside the mansion walls you can explore, with a much larger swimming pool, new assault course with a race track for Lara's motorcycle, improved gardens including an aviary (a large glassed in bird cage) filled with tropical birds and plants.
• In Lara's mansion there will also be a games room filled with games like pool and darts that can be played
• Jeeves the butler is also back in the training level
